Cover Letter Example: 3 Ready Templates (2026)

Also available in:
Updated: 26 October 2026. Numbers come from open vacancies on Cloz.
A cover letter is 4–6 sentences sent with your CV: who you are, why this job, and what you can do. In Uzbekistan it is often not a letter at all, but one Telegram message. On 26 October 2026, 4 of the 20 newest "manager" vacancies on Cloz asked candidates for something in writing: a CV, or a short message about themselves and their experience. None of them used the words "cover letter", but that is exactly what they asked for.
Below: a short Telegram template and three full examples. Copy one and fill in the brackets.
👉

Do you need a cover letter, and when can you skip it

You do not always need one. But when an employer expects it, skipping it makes you look weaker.
Write one if:
  • the vacancy says "tell us about yourself", "describe your experience briefly" or "send your CV and a cover letter";
  • you are applying for an office, sales, IT, teaching or international company role;
  • you have little experience or are changing fields;
  • the online application form has a "cover letter" field.
You can skip it if:
  • the vacancy says "call us" or "come for an interview" — prepare what to say on the phone instead;
  • it asks you to "fill in the form" — the form is enough;
  • it is a shift or day-paid job, such as warehouse or building work.
If you are not sure, send three short sentences. It never hurts.

What to put in 4 short paragraphs

A good cover letter fits on one phone screen. Split it into 4 parts.
Paragraph
What to write
Length
1. Greeting and job
Which position you are applying for and where you saw it
1–2 sentences
2. What you can do
Real experience or a skill that matches 1–2 requirements in the vacancy
2–3 sentences
3. Why this job
What you like about the company, the product or the conditions
1–2 sentences
4. Next step
When you can start, your phone number, that you are ready for an interview
1–2 sentences
The main rule: in paragraph 2, answer one requirement from the vacancy text. Instead of "responsible and friendly", give one number or fact: "I made 50 calls a day".

A short version for Telegram and messengers

Many employers write "send us a private message". That message is your cover letter: 4–6 lines, with your CV attached.
TEMPLATE. Replace the text in brackets with your own. Hello! I am writing about the [Position] vacancy I saw on [where]. My name is [Name], I live in [city/district]. I have worked in [field] for [time]: [1 concrete result]. I can start on [date]. My CV is attached. When could I come for an interview?
A few simple rules:
  • Send one complete message, not "Hello" and then "Is the job open?".
  • No voice messages unless the vacancy asks for them.
  • Write during the hours the vacancy gives.

Three ready examples: first job, career change, experienced worker

These examples are made up. Names, companies and numbers are not real.

First job (no experience)

EXAMPLE. All details are made up. Hello! I am applying for your "Sales manager" vacancy, which I saw on Cloz. I am a third-year distance-learning student at [university]. I have no formal work experience, but for two summers I helped in my family's shop, serving 30–40 customers a day. Your vacancy says you train people without experience. I want to learn sales properly, from the start. I can work full time from Monday. My CV is attached. Phone: +998 XX XXX XX XX
Looking for a first job while you study? See part-time jobs for students in Tashkent.

Career change

EXAMPLE. All details are made up. Hello! I would like to apply for the "Office manager" position. For 4 years I worked as a primary school teacher. Every day I made schedules, talked with parents and handed in documents on time. These are the same skills an office needs. I am confident with Word and Excel and speak Uzbek and Russian fluently. I enjoy keeping things organised and working with people. I can start in two weeks. My CV is attached. Phone: +998 XX XXX XX XX

Experienced worker

EXAMPLE. All details are made up. Hello! I am writing about the "Head of sales" vacancy. I have worked in sales for 6 years. For the last 2 years I have led a call centre team of 8 people. In that time the team met its monthly target in 10 months out of 12, and I wrote the sales script we use to train new staff. Your vacancy asks for experience with KPIs and scripts — that is my everyday work. I can show my results at an interview. My CV is attached. Phone: +998 XX XXX XX XX
For an experienced candidate, numbers matter most: team size, targets, time periods. Make sure they match your CV. Applying for phone-based sales? See the call centre operator job guide.

Mistakes that get a letter ignored

  1. One letter for every job. "Dear employer, I want to work at your company" fits any vacancy, so it fits none. Name the position and one requirement.
  1. Repeating your CV. Pick one or two key facts and explain why they fit this job.
  1. Too long. Keep it to 150–200 words, or 4–6 lines for Telegram.
  1. Typos and mixed alphabets. Read it out loud once before sending.
  1. Starting with salary. Do not ask about pay in your first message. It is usually in the vacancy; discuss the rest at the interview.

How to send it together with your CV

The right way depends on what the vacancy says.
  1. By Telegram. Write the short message and attach your CV as a PDF. Name the file "Name_Surname_Position.pdf", not "cv_final2.pdf".
  1. By email. Put the position and your name in the subject line: "Sales manager — Name Surname". Write the letter in the email body and attach your CV.
  1. Through a website or Cloz. If the form has a letter field, paste in your template. If you do not have a CV yet, you can make one on your phone on the create a resume page and download it as a PDF.
Check before you send:
The position name is the same as in the vacancy
You answer at least one requirement from the vacancy
There is one concrete number or fact
You say when you can start
Your phone number is correct, every digit
Your CV is a PDF with your name in the file name
The text fits on one screen and has no typos
Stay safe. Your letter and CV contain your phone number, so check who gets them. A real employer never asks for money to review your application, a copy of your passport, your card number or an SMS code. Learn the warning signs: fake job offers on Telegram.

FAQ

What is a cover letter and how is it different from a CV?

A CV lists your experience and skills and is almost the same for every employer. A cover letter is written for one vacancy: why you want this job and why you fit it. It adds to your CV; it does not replace it.

How long should a cover letter be?

For email or a website, 150–200 words in 4 short paragraphs. For Telegram, 4–6 lines. If it does not fit on one phone screen, cut it.

What do I write in a cover letter with no experience?

Give one concrete example from your studies, an internship, a family business or volunteering. Then match one requirement and say you are ready to learn. Start from the "first job" example above.

Should I write my cover letter in English, Russian or Uzbek?

Use the language the vacancy is written in. If the vacancy is in English or Russian and asks for that language, a letter in that language already shows you can use it.

How the data was collected

  • Source: open vacancies on Cloz, the 20 newest results for the search "menejer" (manager), all posted on 25 October 2026. Counted on 26 October 2026.
  • We read every vacancy in full. 2 asked for a CV and 3 for a short note about the candidate and their experience; one accepted either, so the total is 4. Another 2 asked for a form; the rest asked people to call or come in, or only listed contacts.
  • None of the 20 vacancies used the Uzbek or Russian term for "cover letter".
  • This small sample shows one day of manager vacancies, not the whole market.
  • The letters and templates are made up and describe no real people.
