Nilufar is a women only community app built for Uzbekistan. Its name means water lily, and its logo shows two women facing each other inside the petals: support given and support received. Nilufar is being built in Tashkent for women in all fourteen regions, from Qoraqalpog‘iston to Farg‘ona, and for Uzbek women living abroad.

Every member is a verified woman. The app brings together moderated groups across eleven areas of life, private invite only circles, end to end encrypted messaging and calls, Companion for real life plans, Ask for questions answered by members and verified experts, and Market for classifieds and directories. It works in Uzbek Latin, Uzbek Cyrillic, Russian and English, on iOS, Android and the web.

Nilufar is a Converse product. Converse is a modular community platform used to run trusted, bounded communities. In Uzbekistan it operates through CONVERSE COMMUNICATIONS MCHJ, an IT Park Tashkent resident company registered in 2026, with product and engineering support from LegalCraft Solutions Private Limited in Hyderabad, India.

The technology is in place. What Nilufar needs now is a local cofounder who will own the market: the launch, the team, the partnerships and the day to day running of the company in Uzbekistan.

Requirements:

•    Entrepreneurial: you have started, built or scaled a business, product or initiative, and you are comfortable with ambiguity.

•    Enthusiastic and dynamic, with the energy to build something from the start and the discipline to run it well.

•    Fluent in Uzbek and Russian, with working English for daily collaboration with the team in India.

•    Five or more years of experience in operations, growth, community, consumer technology, media or the social sector.

•    A strong network in Tashkent across business, civil society, education or government.

•    Deep understanding of the lives, needs and online habits of women in Uzbekistan.

•    Sound judgement on sensitive matters, privacy and member safety.

•    Based in Tashkent, or willing to relocate.

•    Experience with consumer apps, social platforms or online communities.

•    Background in women’s programmes, NGOs, health, education or financial inclusion.

•    Experience with IT Park, startup programmes, grants or venture funding in Uzbekistan.

•    Experience hiring and leading a team.

•    Knowledge of Karakalpak or Tajik, or experience across the Central Asian region.

Responsibilities:

•    Plan and lead the Nilufar launch in Tashkent, then expand region by region.

•    Own member acquisition, activation and retention, with a clear focus on members who return and take part.

•    Build the first communities with founding members, moderators and group admins.

•    Run campaigns, events and community programmes online and offline.

•    Hire and lead the Tashkent team across community and moderation, trust and safety, content and localisation, and partnerships.

•    Set up the daily operating rhythm, budgets, reporting and service standards.

•    Work closely with the engineering team on product priorities, local feedback and release planning.

•    Own member verification operations, moderation policy and escalation handling for the Uzbek market.

•    Build relationships with support services so members in difficult situations can be referred to the right help.

•    Make sure Nilufar stays a place where women feel safe enough to say what they mean.

•    Run Converse Communications MCHJ day to day, including banking, accounting, payroll and IT Park residency obligations and reporting.

•    Make sure Nilufar meets local requirements on personal data, content and online services.

•    Support fundraising, grant applications and investor conversations in Uzbekistan and the region.
