Step Deck (Open Deck) Dispatcher

Globe Transportation is seeking an experienced Step Deck (Open Deck) Dispatcher to join our team. We are looking for a results-driven professional with a strong industry network, deep knowledge of open-deck freight, and the ability to maximize truck profitability in a competitive market.

Responsibilities:
• Source, vet, and book high-yield open-deck freight, including machinery, industrial components, and oversized/overweight loads

• Negotiate with brokers to secure spot and contract freight that consistently meets or exceeds company RPM benchmarks

• Review load specifications, including dimensions, weight, and loading requirements, to ensure freight is compatible with trailer configurations, height restrictions, and loading equipment

• Negotiate and document all applicable accessorial charges, including tarping, chaining/strapping, pipe racks, overhangs, detention, and layover fees

• Monitor freight opportunities and maintain efficient truck utilization while maximizing revenue opportunities

Requirements:
• Minimum 2+ years of Step Deck (Open Deck) dispatching experience

• Proven lanes and broker relationships with the ability to load trucks from Day One

• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to maintain KPI performance in current market conditions and capitalize on opportunities within the Step Deck market

• Excellent knowledge of freight dimensions, weight regulations, and load requirements

• Ability to introduce innovative solutions and contribute to operational growth

• 5/2
• 5:00 PM – 3:00 AM
